Just for the info:

SURE version: v4.21.116.20181231
Android Version: 9
LG TV: 2017 (SJ800V)

Downgraded from: 05.90.10 to 04.80.45 and now from 04.80.45 to
the latest official "04.xx.xx" - 04.70.95.

Seems to be working with all FW Versions (NSU and USB).

I used the SURE version from 4pda: SURE-Full-v4.21.116.20181231-Mod.apk

(I am registerd at 4pda since a few month cause of the google camera ports from B-S-G,
so I could download the apk)

I can confirm this method works!!

I downgraded my LG SJ800V (2017) from 05.90.10 to 04.80.45!!!!!

I put the FW in the LG_DTV Folder plugged it in, an started the
"Software Upadate" in the SURE APP!!

on xda-developers they managed to root/jailbreak webOS 3.5 and below
hopefully they get it work that we can root/jailbreak other webOS (3.8) too
that could be lead to a downgrade process...

What is that for a FW?

Fuck I We need to find a way to downgrade, I want 04.xx.xx again.

There are still a few bugs with brightness and weak colors (2160p 50hz, external devices)

since the 05.xx.xx the colors are very colorless if you use a set-top-box like Dreambox or VU, if the resolution is set to 2160p/50hz in the set-top-box. (60hz is ok, but there is stuttering when watching tv) when set to 1080p the colors are perfect. this problem is since 05.xx.xx fw, with 04.xx.xx ...

05.80.15 is a engineering fw.
you cant update via USB if you not changed your NSU Server (inplace setup)

you need to do the "firmware upgrade/downgrade methode" thats posted here too
